This is a traditional recipe of Gujarat. I'mein dedicating this recipe to my grandmother. Basically we are farmers so our food is solid and simple. My grandmother never asked us that what do you want to eat..I used to get upset because of limited choices of food but now I am living in city and different state, I am really craving for traditional recipes. This dish, I used to eat as a child and later forgot completely. When I joined Cookpad, I started to search this recipe and luckily I got it. My grandmother never used vegetables in this recipe but I've. I have also added homemade rasam powder which is completely optional.
Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Bhaidku:
- Bhaidku flour
- 1 cup Rice
- 1 cup moong dal (with husk)
- 1 cup moong daal (without husk)
- 1 cup bajari Pearl millet
- Making
- 1/2 cup curd
- Oil
- 1/4tbsp turmeric
- as per taste Salt
- 1/4 cup green peas
- 1tsp Homemade rasam powder (optional)
- 1 pinch asafoetida
Instructions to make to make Bhaidku
- Dry roast all daal and rice on low flame. Mix it. Make a coarse powder. I used 2 tblspn powder. Rest of the flour, you can store it in the fridge.


- Take 2 tblspn bhaidaku flour. Add curd and some water. Let it soak up for some time.


- In the pan, add oil. Once oil is hot, add mustard and asafoetida. Add soaked bhaidku. Add some more water. Add turmeric, salt and rasam powder.



- Continue to cook. Add green peas. Let it boils.



- Serve hot.
